Los Angeles Dog Photographer | Puglet, the Chihuahua Mix, and Lola & HoneyBear, the Cocker Spaniels

I loved capturing golden year photos of this special senior squad. As they have gotten older, their mom wanted to capture some portraits of her senior dogs being their happy selves. Puglet, Lola, and HoneyBear each came from difficult pasts but were eventually united together in a safe, loving home with their amazing mama.

Puglet is a 15 year old Chihuahua x Pug mix. Behind his grouchy old man exterior, he is a sweet and friendly dog. I couldn’t get enough of his cute little “gremlin” face!

Lola is a 13 year old Cocker Spaniel. She was rescued from a home where the domestic abuse did not spare her. Today, she loves “protecting” Puglet and always staying close to her mom.

HoneyBear is a 10 year old Cocker Spaniel. Originally purchased as a gift for a little girl, she soon became a neglected backyard dog. She wasn’t spayed as a young dog and eventually she developed breast cancer. Now, HoneyBear is healthy, and her vivacious personality shines through! She’s very friendly and loves chasing balls.

The pack arrived for their dog photography session with matching bandanas and leashes that were so adorable. We walked through the park, capturing dog portraits at picturesque locations. The fallen leaves and blooming daisies made for some beautiful photos that I couldn’t wait to share!

As with so many rescued dogs, you’d never guess what they had been through just by meeting them. Their resilience and trust in humans is so strong. Each of these dogs held on through their difficult situations, waiting for their forever home where they could finally experience true love and companionship. I am so grateful to have been able to capture some beautiful dog photos of these sweet seniors and give their mom timeless keepsakes of their special selves.

Sadly, a few weeks after our dog photography session, Puglet, who had been battling heart and kidney disease, passed away. My heart always breaks for pet parents when I hear that their beloved pet has crossed the rainbow bridge, but I hope that my dog photography will help keep happy memories alive for years to come.
